Community Building & Outreach COMMUNITY BUILDING: EDUCATIONAL FORUMS Monsoon hosts educational forums and events for the local Asian community. Issues such identity, gender, migration legal issues, and human trafficking had been discussed in past forums. ASIAN COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTERMonsoon provides services to the whole Asian community in Des Moines, Iowa by establishing the Asian Community Resource Center. The Asian Community Resource Center’s mission is to improve the overall health and well being of the Asian population by providing culturally competent education, advocacy, and direct services to area residents through our programs and services that empower, enrich, and enhance the quality of life of the Asian community. The center provides information, referral and application assistance on health services, elderly/senior services, and refugee/immigrant services. We are open Tuesdays, Thursday & Fridays from 10am to 2pm and on Sundays from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. Call ahead for an appointment or just walk in! |
